Keep Standing

“Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]” (Ephesians 6:13 AMP).

A little over a year ago, God told me to keep doing what I know to do. For me, that means trusting God, praying, reading the Word, and moving around and walking as much as I am able.

I’ve been doing that, but along the way, I have gotten frustrated. I have gotten tired of things being the way they are.

I read something awhile back in Norvel Hayes’ book How to Live and Not Die that has stuck with me. He says, “If you’ve been binding and resisting the devil and sometimes it hasn’t been working, you haven’t been doing it right. You haven’t been listening to God. You’ve been listening to yourself. Often, there is a foundation of God that needs to be laid before the victory comes.”

I asked God to show me where I’ve been wrong because there is something I haven’t been doing right. That nugget of wisdom from Norvel Hayes is my answer.

I got a little off course because my body was weak. I wasn’t able to pray for myself. Circumstances brought on by a medication changed screamed loudly at me.

My mom reminded me to do what I could. “Pray when you can. Sit up as long as you can. Continue speaking the Word over yourself.”

Keep on keeping on, friend. Your breakthrough is right around the corner!
